First Appointment

Acupuncture

The intake process involves completing three forms: a Registration Form, a Health History Questionnaire, and an Intake and Consent Form. I will give you these to fill out when you arrive to the clinic.

At the time of consultation I will gain understanding of the main complaint and aspects of general health and lifestyle.  Based on this information I will make a diagnosis and set up your treatment plan, which may include lifestyle and dietary advice.

The actual Acupuncture treatment may involve acupuncture needles or non-invasive techniques (Cupping, Gua Sha or Tui na Massage). You will be laying on a couch. Most of the time needles will be inserted and left for 20-30 minutes while you are relaxing.

Cupping, Gua Sha and Tui na massage usually take about 10-15 minutes; Maxibustation time varies. The 1st and most of the following treatments take no more than one hour.

Holistic Massage

The new patient intake process involves completing three forms: a Registration Form, A New patient intake form and an Informed Consent Form. I will take a summary of your medical history in order to identify if there are any contra-indications to the treatment.

Holistic Massage is non-invasive, relaxing and completely natural. From ancient China to present-day Europe, it has been used for the promotion and restoration of health. The term holistic comes from the Greek word “HOLOS” meaning whole. The holistic approach offers individuals the opportunity to be creators of their own reality of health, through an understanding of all levels of health and a balanced lifestyle.

Sports Massage

The process of a new patient intake is very similar to Holistic Massage treatment. You will be asked to complete the following forms - the Registration Form, A New patient intake form and Informed Consent Form. I will take a summary of your medical history in order to identify if there are any contra-indications to the treatment. We will also discuss what your aims and goals are in order to achieve better results from the Sports massage.

Depending on the case there are three types of Sports massage:

  1. Pre-event massage. To be done within 30 minutes to 24 hours before competition. The techniques used are fast and stimulating. Deep tissue work is usually contraindicated during a pre-event massage.
  2. Inter-event massage. Between competitions on the same day, this is a very brief therapy and main focus is on muscles stressed during the previous competition.
  3. Post-event massage. To be done immediately after competition –usually 30 minutes up to 24 hours. The purpose of the post-event massage is to help the patient to recover from the high-intensity exercise.
